Marc Jacobs Object of Desire Face and Eye Palette

Hello lovelies! Last week I had a little look around Harrods (the beauty halls are my happy place) and found this gorgeous Face and Eye Palette by Marc Jacobs. I should have photographed it before I tried it but I couldn't help myself. You are lucky I didn't eat it! This was left over from Christmas and I believe its on sale so its worth googling. It come in a gold vegan leather evening style bag with a tassel (who doesn't love a tassel), I am sure you can use the pouch as an evening bag if you want. Anyway, it is made up of a matte bronzer called Tantric, a gorgeous blush called Exhibition, a limited addition highlighter call Make A Sheen, 3 shimmery eyes shadows called Lights On, Candle Light and In The Dark and 3 matte eyeshadows called Dimmer, Violet Hour and Twilight.

I have been wearing this palette everyday since I got it. The pigments are spectacular and they are so easy to blend. Here is what I have done with them.

Object of Desire Brown Eyes

For the brown eyes face chart I wanted to create something smoky so I used Tantric (which is a bronzer) all over the lids as a base then smoked the upper and lower lash line with In the Dark. Its important to remember that the darkest shade are around the lashes and the lightest shade is the brow bone. Apply the darker shade with a small firm brush and stipple or tap it on, this will stop the eye shadows from dropping on the cheeks creating a big mess (having said all that I wouldn't say that any of the Marc Jacobs eye shadows drop but this is a general tip) and blend with a soft fluffy brush, this will create the smoke. You can also line the upper and lower water line with a black eye liner and remember lots of mascara. I applied Exhibition to the cheeks and swept it up to the ears. Then I left the lips nude by applying Dior Rouge Baume in Star as a base then defined the lip line with Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Liner.

Object of Desire Blue Eyes

For blues eyes I created a look using more of the peachy shades in the palette. I applied Candle Light as a base all over the lid, then darkened up the crease with Dimmer and In the Dark in the very corner. I applied Dimmer along the lower lash line for definition. I then highlighted the brow with some Lights On. Curl lashes then apply lots of mascara. I think applied Tantric as a light contour to bring out the cheek bones not to slim the face then I applied some Exhibition blusher to the cheeks and finally I applied Make It Sheen highlight to the upper cheek bones. I like to team this eye look up with a bright lipstick so I chose a blue based pink in the shade Punch Pop by Clinique to pull the look together and bring out the blue of the eyes.

Object of Desire Green eyes

For the green eyes I decided to use the purple and lilac shades in the palette. I applied Violet Hour as a base from lash line to crease, then I applied Twilight to the crease, outer corner and along the lower lash line. I blended them all nicely together so there are no harsh lines. Then I applied Lights On to the brow bone as a highlight. A black or navy eyeliner would look nice with this look. Lots of mascara. I then applied Tantric as you would traditionally apply a bronzer, to areas of the face that the sun would bronze naturally. The forehead, down the nose, up the cheeks and the chin. Then I applied the Exhibitionist blusher to the apples of the cheeks to make the cheeks pop. I wanted to leave the lips with a soft rose gloss so I chose Rimmel 102 Nova.

I have just googled this palette and its available at Net-a-porter, Sephora and Marc Jacobs.

Hope you like the looks I have created. I do love the ease of a face and eye palette. What are you favourite palettes I should look out for?
